Well folks, we have great news to share with you this Monday! The concessions are finally going to reopen at Trunk Bay! How wonderful is that??!!
I stopped by Connections this weekend when I noticed an employment sign that stated it was looking “dependable, customer oriented staff” with “a great attitude” to work at the soon-to-be opened concessions at Trunk Bay. The sign stated they are looking to hire people for retail, a food truck and bar-backs.
A few minutes later, I ran into the one and only Ben Cox, who happens to have run the concessions over at Cinnamon Bay prior to the storms. Ben stated that he is helping out with the concessions, and that Trunk Bay will have a food truck that serves both food and beverage. It will also have a small retail shop.
(We previously reported that the retail shop would be located at Cinnamon Bay. We were incorrect. I apologize for the error everyone!)
Redwood Parks still has the concessions contract at both locations for the time being. We’ve heard rumblings that that may change sometime next year.
It is unclear whether Trunk Bay will start charging for entrance once again. The Park has stated previously that it cannot charge currently due to the lack of concessions, so it’s a good bet to think they will resume charging once this reopens. The food truck is expected to reopen sometime next month.
Currently, Honeymoon beach is the only beach that offers food and drink options. As we mentioned last week, Maho Bay will soon have a small food truck and tiki bar.
We will keep you all posted on this. In the meantime, have a great Monday everyone!
December 23rd update: The Trunk Bay beach bar is now offering drinks and snacks. The food truck will reopen next week.
