Backseat Seatbelts Soon May Be Law

You know it’s slow season when… When you write about seatbelt laws. 🙂

I know that many of you enjoy vacationing here, and some enjoy some of our lax laws. Passengers in the backseat are currently not required to wear a seatbelt. Well that may soon change.

A Bill calling for all passengers to wear seatbelts passed through the Senate last night and now heads to the Governor’s desk for signing. This Bill does not address seatbelts in Safari taxis, which will continue to be seatbelt free. The Bill also doesn’t address people riding in the back of trucks apparently.

You can still, however, have an open container in your vehicle. So feel free to pop open that beer in the backseat… just make sure you have your seatbelt on. 🙂

That’s all we have for you today, folks. “News” you can use!
