USVI Makes History with First Sunscreen Ban in the US
It may be a little known fact that the USVI officially banned sunscreen containing chemicals that damage the reefs and are potentially hazardous to humans this spring. On March 30, 2020, the USVI sunscreen ban officially went into effect making the territory the first in the United States to implement this ruling to be followed by Hawaii and Key West in January of 2021.

Good Morning! Yesterday I shared some upcoming closures and some not so great news in regards to COVID-19 updates from the Government House.
But, there are some beautiful and positive things happening on island. So, I wanted to share a little bit of that with you today. No rainbows without the rain, right?

Good Afternoon everyone. I have some good, and some not so good, news from the Government House of the Virgin Islands today.
St. John Holiday Events Cancelled- A Look at Years’ Past
In true St. John form, Christmas time has always been quite the celebration. The Ugly Sweater Party at the Tap Room, the Evening in the Courtyard at Mongoose Junction, the delivery of gifts by Santa Claus on Christmas Eve to the children of St.John in the square and the All-Island Holiday Party, lovingly referred to as St. John Prom, keep the holiday calendars of residents and visitors full during this lovely time of year in the Caribbean. Unfortunately, COVID-19 has proved yet again triumphant over these annual celebrations and the steady announcement of cancellations began last month. Formally, the St. John Prom has been postponed for the first time in nearly a quarter of a century.

Real Estate Spotlight: Privacy in Paradise with Beach Access!
Good Morning! I am very excited to be writing about this unique, island fancy home in beautiful Privateer Bay! I am fortunate to get to poke around A LOT of beautifully immaculate villas but this place just has so much St. John-centric charm to it. And with nearly an acre of land, a pool, private beach access and a price tag under a million dollars attached, “Long Bay Getaway” is pretty tough to beat in my book!

Get Excited: ZoZo’s at Caneel Bay Opens This Month!
In 2017, Hurricane Irma took away a lot of obvious things that created much hardship…jobs, homes, businesses. Everyone had to start over.
A lot has been rebuilt…But some of those things that we once considered “normal” still slowly trickle into the background of life. As those pieces fall back into place over time, they have startled me with memories and emotions I have never really been able to place. I remember these feelings coming up the night that the power came back on after 76 days in the dark, the first time I heard the cannons of the Kekoa sound again in Cruz Bay, the first shift I worked at The Terrace after they re-opened.
Last week I was fortunate enough to have those feelings overwhelm me yet again as I sat at the newly constructed ZoZo’s at Caneel Bay overlooking the water, chatting with owner, John Ferrigno, and General Manger, Erin Hudson.
