Well folks, this is good news! We receive a ton of emails asking how people can visit Virgin Gorda. Not everyone wants to pay for a private charter, and not all private charters offer trips that far. Well soon you will have an easier, more economical choice.

Inter Island Boat Services just announced that it will start “Two Islands Thursday” trips beginning November 7th. Each Thursday, Inter Island will ferry passengers from St. Thomas and St. John to Virgin Gorda and then Jost Van Dyke. The ferry will leave Red Hook at 7:30 a.m. and Cruz Bay at 8 a.m. It will arrive in Virgin Gorda around 9:30 a.m. and will depart at 12:30 p.m., giving you plenty of time to explore the Baths. From there, passengers will head to Jost. You will arrive there at 1:15 p.m. and you will head back to St. John and St. Thomas at 4:15 p.m.

I don’t know about you, but I think this sounds great!

The cost of the Two Islands Thursday trip is $160. It includes customs, and all other fees and taxes.

Inter Island Boat Services also offers ferry service between Cruz Bay and the Crown Bay marina on St. Thomas. This ferry is the best option when traveling to and from the airport as long as your schedule matches up with theirs. (Click here to read what we wrote about it back in June.) Currently, they are offering one run a day each way. The ferry leaves Cruz Bay at 11 a.m. and Crown Bay at 3:30 p.m. It will resume its second run of the day – leaving Cruz Bay at 4:15 p.m. and Crown Bay at 5:30 p.m. – on November 1. They also offer weekend trips to Jost and daily service to Tortola’s West End. Please visit their website at www.interislandboatservices.com for the most up-to-date schedules. You can also book your tickets online up to one year in advance.

This is the first time that ferry service to Virgin Gorda is returning since the 2017 storms. A big thanks to Inter Island Boat Services for bringing it back.

    • Good day, we do recommend that parties make reservations. You can do so by calling 340 776-6597. Children are more than welcome and the pricing for them will be $130 that also includes all the taxes and customs fee as well.

  1. Just need some info! Will the Beach Bar be opened by 2020. Really missing it. I know it’s open some evenings. We always enjoyed having lunch there.
Another question: Is Extra Virgin still open in its original place. I know they were working on a place in Mongoose.
Will be there end of Feb. Love your Island and the people.

  2. Brilliant.. Shame its not running twice a week to give people a mini break in VG or JVD ? An idea for the future?? . And 3 hours in VG only gives you enough time to do the Baths and not explore say the North Sound ? Mango, Mahoe and Savannah Bay. A small step in the right direction though.
