Well folks, this is pretty big news. Time Magazine just named a very popular St. John business one of the world’s 100 greatest places of 2019. How exciting is that??!!

Lime Out announced the news yesterday, and we could not be happier for them. Lime Out is a floating taco bar created and operated by our friends at Lime Inn. It’s located on St. John’s East End just off of Hansen Bay. (Lime Out is currently closed for low season. It plans to reopen October 1st.)

Time Magazine 100 Greatest PlacesLime Out was listed in the Eat & Drink category, and it’s one of only 19 places in the world chosen. That’s pretty impressive. Here’s what the magazine had to say about its choices:

How does one measure the greatness of a place—in miles covered, dollars spent, or visitors captivated? Such metrics can play a part, but also important is something that many travelers aspire to experience: the sense that one has stumbled upon the extraordinary.

To compile our second annual list of the World’s Greatest Places, TIME solicited nominations across a variety of categories—including museums, parks, restaurants, and hotels—from our editors and correspondents around the world as well as industry experts. Then we evaluated each one based on key factors, including quality, originality, sustainability, innovation and influence.

The result: 100 new and newly noteworthy destinations to experience right now, from America’s hottest hometown pizzeria to a Tokyo museum bringing digital art to life.

So cool. Again, a huge congrats to Chelsea, Richard and the entire Lime Out team.

    • Be sure to do a day on the water on the Kekoa, the catamaran with the Black Sails! Probably one of the most wonderful days on the water on any of the islands!! Wait till you hear their story!!!

  1. Fantastic! We were at Lime Out the week before it closed (late July) and it is a fun and unique experience! Rent a kayak at Hansen Beach or arrive by boat. The Lime Out team thought of everything…..from the swim up stools, floating mats for lounging, covered/reusable drink cups, and floating food/drink trays for delivering orders to the mat area. The drinks and tacos are perfect! There are fish everywhere you look. We loved Lime Out and will definitely go again on our next visit.
