Barefoot Cowboy Gets New Owners; Grand Reopening Tonight

barefoot cowboy corona

So by now you may have heard that Eric and Kellie Jo Barley, the former owners of Barefoot Cowboy, sold the bar and moved back home to Florida. Well today we’d like to tell you all about the new owners, who happen to be having a grand reopening party tonight at our favorite people-watching watering hole. Here are the details…

Like many of you, Steve and Liz Horner were avid St. John vacationers, having visited the island several times since their first trip back in 2009. And like many of you, they read News of St. John between trips so they could keep in touch with their little slice of paradise. (And a little side note: Steve, being from Texas, has always wanted to serve good BBQ for a living.) Now you may recall back in December when I told you all that Barefoot Cowboy was up for sale again. Well Liz happened to read that too. She immediately text Steve and said, “I think I found the answer to your dreams.”

And you know what, they did.

Steve and Liz officially became the new owners of Barefoot Cowboy last Friday, April 1. They’ve spent the last week sprucing up the place and perfecting their new menu. They’ll officially reopen BCL’s doors tonight at 5 p.m. I hope to see many of you there.

Tonight only a sample menu will be served, so everyone get get a taste of what’s to come. For just $6, you can get a plate with brisket, chicken, mac and cheese, and potato salad. Jason Jones of St. Thomas will be playing music from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Their full menu will begin on Friday as will Happy Hour, which runs daily from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. They offer $2 domestics and $3 rum, well and vodka drinks. Check out the full menu:
