Familiar Face Purchases Cruz Bay Salon

Back in February, we told you how Cruz Salon had listed for sale. Well today we’d like to announce that it has a buyer, one many of you probably know.

Heather Morningstar – a good friend of ours who also happens be one of my recurring sidekicks/partner in crime over at Island Cork – will be the salon’s new owner effective September 1st. Congrats Heather! We’re so excited for you!

If Heather’s face looks familiar, it’s probably because she’s served you up a mimosa or two, or perhaps some breakfast or lunch over at Cruz Bay Landing. Heather has worked there for the past two years as a bartender and server.

Heather is no stranger to the hair business. She worked as an independent contractor in Texas for 13 years before moving to St. John in March 2013, .

And for those of you who enjoy seeing Heather over at the Landing, there’s no need to worry … Heather plans to continue working there while operating the salon.

Mark Flynn opened Cruz Salon in August 2015. He decided to sell as he and his husband plan to move back to Florida. We’re really going to miss him.

We’ll have more Heather Morningstar news later this week… Stay tuned. 😉

  1. Wow! That’s really cool. I am considering moving to St. John in 2 years after my kids graduate high schoo. Maybe own a business (beach bar) or something, and just enjoy life.

  2. So happy for you Mark! I will miss you! Take my number so if you make it over to the Gulf side of FL. you can call!❤️

  3. Congratulations Heather! Now I’ll have to come visit the island so I can get my hair done from the best. Haven’t found anyone as good as you!!
