That One Time We Raised An Incredible Amount of Money In One Day

Remember that one time when people who love St. John got together to help the people of the Bahamas and, together, they raised more than $80,000 in one day? Yeah, well that happened yesterday.

AMAZING!!!!!

Yes, that’s right… We sold more than $80,000 in raffle tickets yesterday! In one day. I am stunned. I am grateful. I am so very thankful for each and everyone of you.

Around 4:30 p.m. yesterday, we sent $50,000 to All Hands and Hearts. As we mentioned yesterday, All Hands and Hearts was instrumental in St. John’s recovery, so now we hope to pay it forward and help them with their disaster relief work in the Bahamas.

And even better, Norwegian Cruise Lines announced that it will match all donations to All Hands and Hearts during the month of September dollar for dollar. So that means that $50,000 donation we sent will automatically double to $100,000. Incredible.

I expect to send a second $50,000 donation later today. So exciting!

It’s not too late to get in on the action. The raffle runs through Friday, September 20, 2019 at 9 p.m. EST. The winner will be announced on newsofstjohn.com on or about September 22, 2019. Here is what you can win:

    • We sent them a second $50,000 today. Each time we hit that number we will send it. And then at the end of the raffle, we will send what’s remaining.

  4. This is SO great!!! I donated as soon as I saw this on Sept 6th! And…I shared it immediately to a Facebook group that has 50,000 members! I hope we raise at least $500,000….and Norwegian matches that!!!! Maybe we will raise even more. Thank you for thinking of this way to help…and to the many that donated. I was living on St John when Irma hit. I know first hand of the damage, the recovery…and those beautiful people in those purple shirts!!!

  5. Thank you for the wonderful job you are doing. The devastation in the Bahamas is just heartbreaking. I have sent this information on to all of my friends and ask if they make it a priority. I look forward to your updates. Lois A Miller

  8. How long will this raffle go on? I want to make sure people know about this and I have been Tweeting about it since the 1st day. I want to keep doing that and posting on Face Book until the raffle ends.
