Popular Restaurants Closes & Then Reopens in New Location

Rhumb Lines is now open in Coral Bay.
Rhumb Lines is now open in Coral Bay.

Hello everyone and happy 2019! We had a nice little break for the holiday, but now we’re ready to get back to business! There is so much happening on island, so stay tuned for lots of great stories! And as a side note, the island is so busy! It’s such a great sight!! Ok, but now on to the “news”…

So you all may have heard rumblings that Rhumb Lines closed up shop. Well those rumblings were true, but fortunately it didn’t last too long! From what we hear, there was an issue with the lease at its Cruz Bay location beside Bayside Mini Mart. They were closed for a bit, but then they reopened over in Coral Bay .. how exciting!

Rhumb Lines is now operating where Indigo Grill is. They are sister restaurants, so it just made sense. The change was announced last week. The restaurant will serve dishes from both restaurants from what we hear. How exciting!

For those of you unfamiliar with the spot, it is located on the lefthand side of the road just past the Coral Bay triangle. Prior to Indigo, it was the home of the Donkey Diner.

That’s all we have for you today! Stay tuned for some BIG news tomorrow! Have a great one everyone!!

  1. I loved Rhumb Lines. Far and away the best restaurant dollar for dollar on island. What a shame they had to move. Wish them the best in the future. This is BIG news for Coral Bay.

  2. This is Terrible news. It’s much more difficult to get to coral bay for dinner. I’m afraid this great restaurant will soon be no more.

    • This is not terrible news for the full time residents, and the many guests, who choose Coral Bay. In fact, this restaurant has already been operating very successfully for quite some time. Come try it, you’ll like it.

    • I hear you! We like to frequent Coral Bay businesses in the daylight. We will miss this fine restaurant. Always loved having a nice bottle of wine with dinner but not making that drive after imbibing – in the dark. It is a plus for those staying in Coral Bay.

    • Coral Bay rocks! Great to have another good dining option on the small town side of the island. You can’t eat a Skinny’s every night even though it is awesome!

  3. So pleased Rhumb Lines is back. I will miss the convenience of the old location yet I hope cab companies will be running back and forth to Cruz Bay so those of us not in Coral Bay can continue to enjoy the experience.

  4. We have always stayed in Cruz Bay and Rhumb Lines was our favourite place for dinner. I’m happy it’s reopened on the other side of the island but I don’t think we’ll get there this year. I don’t like being on that road at night.

  5. . . . and the former home of Sputnik Bar, where the beer was cheap and the food was local. That spot was originally built to keep the Pizzagalli laborers on the East End at the end of the day while they were building the road into Coral Bay.

  6. Loved Rhumlines in town but hated walking through a grocery to get to it…. glad to see it has relocated & happy to drive to Coral Bay to enjoy it!!!!

  7. Good news for Coral Bay residents and visitors who are in the area much easier for them to get a good meal rather than having to drive to Cruz Bay. In Cruz Bay there is much more variety for all who stay there. May you be very successful Rhumb line in Coral bay!

  8. Just an FYI, when we stopped by Indigo last night, they are switched over to the Rhumb Lines menu. Nothing from Indigo for the time being.
