Chili Cook-off Happening this Weekend

2018 chili fundraiser

If you are lucky enough to be on island this weekend, there’s a great event happening in Coral Bay that’s not to be missed!

The St. John Land Conservancy will hold its second annual chili cook-off this Sunday. April, 22nd at Indigo Grill. The event begins at noon, and participants are still encouraged to join.

The cost to enter is $50. Participants are asked to bring three gallons of warmed chili plus any toppings to accompany your dish. You are also asked to bring a Crock Pot (or alternate way to keep your chili warm) plus an extension cord to plug it in.

Not into making chili? Well you are also encouraged to attend! Vendors are welcomed too, and can set up a table for just $25.

There will be a first place winner plus a people’s choice winner. There will also be live music, a silent auction and a 50/50 raffle.

Want to participate? Click here to view the registration form: Contestant Registration Form. And please disregard the deadline. You can also email Alisha and Kelly at [email protected]

All proceeds will be donated to the St. John Land Conservancy, a non-profit 501 (c)3 organization dedicated to the protection of St. John’s land of important historic & natural beauty. Since its inception, the Conservancy has helped preserve 3.6 acres at Haulover on the East End. This unspoiled beachfront property was slated for condominium development. It has also helped secure 1.1 acres on the easternmost tip of Lovango Cay. For more information on the St. John Land Conservancy, please visit its website at www.stjohnlandconservancy.org
