Light Up the Night Happening Saturday

Light Up the Night, 2015

Well folks, I’m sure you know by now that a hurricane or two can’t stop us from holding our annual events here on island. So today I’d like to let you all know that the St. John Cancer Fund will be holding its annual Light Up the Night Event this Saturday, March 24th from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m.

Light Up the Night is an event presented by the St. John Cancer Fund. The Community Foundation of the Virgin islands has stepped up in a big way this year, and is fully sponsoring this year’s event as the Cancer Fund was unable to do its usual fundraising due to last year’s hurricane. What makes this event extra special is that 100 percent of the funds raised stay right here on island, and are used to help and support our residents who have cancer.

Despite being unable to fundraise following the hurricanes, the St. John Cancer Fund continued to assist patients either move off island, get treatment, pay for medical prescriptions or assist in funeral expenses.

Anyone can form a team to participate at the event. To secure your spot on the field, the Cancer Fund requires a $100 registration fee. If you are unable to attend but would like to support some of your favorite restaurants or businesses, please click this link to make a donation. And if you happen to be on island and would like to join in the walk, you can also do so. Organizers simply ask for a $10 donation at the gate.

For more information on this event, please visit www.stjohncancerfund.org or email [email protected]
