Baked In the Sun Closes

baked in the sun

Well folks, it appears that one of our favorite breakfast spots has closed its doors for good.

We heard rumblings last week that Baked in the Sun – the popular breakfast and lunch spot located just past the roundabout in Cruz Bay – was serving its last customer Saturday afternoon due to financial issues. We had hope, however, when we were told one of its employees was asked to come to work Monday morning. But alas, the store is currently being cleared out 🙁

We will keep you posted on what’s happening with this spot. In the meantime, have a great Monday everyone!

  1. Sad! Anyone know another place to buy mango or other breakfast breads? They were my favorite breakfasts at the villa.

  2. Sorry to see this. We were just there Friday morning. Stopped in for a couple of stuffers to take to the beach.

  3. So sad ! – glad we got there one last time in June. We will miss getting “baked in the sun” for breakfast while on STJ

  4. What’s happened to the Mexican baker who was located in Mongoose Junction back in the early 80s ?? He has the BEST pastries….formerly Caneel Bay pastry chef…

  5. I visited in late April and it was very disappointing. It was right before prime breakfast time and there was virtually no selection, of anything. It could have been the moment, but indifference was in the air. If you want to sell/make money, inventory is key.
