Well folks, we have some big news to share with you all today … one of our very own residents is about to appear on CBS’s The Amazing Race. How exciting is that??!!

Sara Fowler was chosen to be one of 22 people to participate in the Emmy award-winning reality show. Sara moved to St. John three years ago from Baltimore where she was a registered pediatric nurse. Like many people, she chose St. John after vacationing here several times. (It can happen to you too, folks!) Sara now works as a real estate agent with Sotheby’s.

For those of you unfamiliar with The Amazing Race, it’s a television show in which teams of two compete against each other while traveling the world for roughly 25 days. At each location, the teams complete a series of challenges and only after all tasks are completed, they learn where their next destination will be. The top team wins $1 million.

This season has a twist, however, according to CBS.com. For the first time ever, participants are paired up with strangers based on first impressions. Scary, yet cool.

Check out this quick bio that CBS posted online Wednesday morning:

This isn’t the first time that a St. John resident appeared on a reality show. Jason Siska, captain and owner of Island Roots Charters, appeared on Survivor back in 2008. Click here to read a little more about that.

The next season of The Amazing Race featuring Sara premiers on Thursday, March 30th at 10 p.m. EST on CBS. In the meantime, you can catch up with her on Facebook at www.facebook.com/sara.fowler9212, on Instagram at www.instagram.com/sarafowler_, on Twitter at www.twitter.com/saralynnfowler or on Snapchat at sarastjohnsnaps. You can also check out her real estate page here.

  1. News of St. John, you should really do your research. A simple search of Sara’s Instagram account would show you that she lives in California, not to mention she was a Sotheby’s agent for st Thomas. Just because someone uses St John to get on TV doesn’t mean you should support it!

  2. There are other StJohnians that have appeared this season. Dave and Julie on Househunters International. And The Bachelor was filmed on St John late 2016…..
    It IS a popular island.
