After months of renovations, Cruz Bay’s newest restaurant is set to open next week … and we couldn’t be more excited. Frozen painkillers on tap? Yes, please!
The Longboard restaurant and bar, which dubs itself as being a “coastal cantina,” is set to open next week in the space that formerly housed Joe’s Diner, right in the heart of Cruz Bay. We’ve peeked into the space recently and it looks pretty sweet. We also got a peek at the menu yesterday, and it looks absolutely delicious … and affordable which always makes us happy.
The kitchen will be headed up by Chef Anthony Fossani whose cooking resume includes Michelin Star New York restaurant Oceana, as well as country clubs and working in the mega yacht industry.
The menu will feature healthy, fresh options like gourmet tacos, baja bowls, avocado dishes, ceviches and ahi dishes, all with a Caribbean flair using local spices, locally-caught seafood, and herbs, greens and fruits. The Longboard will also offer many gluten-free items, even having an option to have tacos served atop quinoa.

The bar menu will be fresh and innovative, featuring fresh squeezed fruits, muddled herbs and spices, house made sodas, liqueurs and syrups using real cane sugar. Popular Caribbean cocktails will have a creative twist, using house made fresh ginger beer on tap, oak barrel aged cocktails and house made sodas such as an elderflower/grapefruit soda.

Food will be served from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Happy hour will take place from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature $4 frozen Painkillers and Dark & Stormys on tap, as well as $5 signature cocktails, $5 wines and $1 off beers.

In the meantime, you can follow The Longboard’s progress over on their Facebook page. And no need to worry, we’ll be one of the first people to try it out and we’ll let you all know about it.
