Participants & Volunteers Wanted for Just Play! Event

JustPlayPostcard2014

One of the island’s best events for kids is right around the corner, and organizers are looking for volunteers to help out.

The 6th annual Just Play! event is scheduled for Monday, October 13 at the Winston Wells ball field in Cruz Bay. Children, ages five through 17, are encouraged to attend this free event that features a fun-filled day of sports and fitness. Volunteers are needed as well. Pre-registration is required for both.

To sign up, please visit www.usingsportforsocialchange.com. Volunteers will be asked to do general tasks such as keep score and keep the kids moving in the right direction. Sponsors are greatly needed to make this event a meaningful and memorable experience for all. Any business or individual who would like to help sponsor this event, please click here.

And for the second year in a row, Inner Visions will be playing at a fundraising event to support Using Sport for Social Change. It’s happening on Friday, October 11 from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. at The Beach Bar. There will be a ton of raffles and more. Last year’s event was a huge success. Let’s make it even better this year!

More about the event:

USFSC is proud to bring back for the 6th year in a row, a free fun filled day of sports for youth 5-17 years old, and Volunteers, 18 years+. Each person will be given a free t-shirt and water bottle for the event. A full lunch will also be provided by Mathayom Privates Chefs to each attendee at the event. DJ Adonis will be spinning the music for the event, and William Schouten (aka T-Rex/Juggernaut) will be the guest of honor.

William Schouten has dominated the NAPF and Caribbean super-heavyweight division of this sport for many years. He is currently training for the International Powerlifting Federation World Championships later this year and the North American Regional, Caribbean and Pan-American championship games of 2015. He brings a winning attitude to the games and proudly represents the U.S. Virgin Islands.
